Am I screwed for med school???

I just completed my freshman year of undergrad and ended the year with a 2.8 gpa (and an even lower science gpa around 2.4/2.5). I got C+'s in both Gen Chem I and II and a C- in a Honors Biology course which I retook and still only ended up with a B-. I'm usually pretty good at Biology but messed up the class really bad. I'm taking the 2nd Biology class right now along with Physics and have a solid A in Physics and an A- in Biology which I'm hoping to pull up to an A. I plan on taking many science/math courses next year including Organic Chemistry, the next Physics Course, Microbiology, Genetics, and Statistics and will probably take some other science courses next summer. I'm also involved in undergraduate research, vice president of a club, and a volunteer at a local hospital. I also take ballet lessons and have a part time summer job. I know I reallyyy screwed up my freshman year but do I still have a chance? I'm making some good connections with undergraduate research and volunteering for future med school recommendation letters and I plan on taking a lot of biology courses as well as stuff like astronomy, botany, etc. to pull up my science gpa but my question is even if i manage to get a 3.5 science gpa would med schools decline me because of the C+'s I got in Gen Chem and the mistakes i made freshman year? What if I pulled off an A-/B+ in Ochem. Is med school out of the question? Except for places like CA & NY welfare payments run from a little under $300. a month to less than $500. with only $50. a month more per child. Public housing is a joke as are most of the HUD funded rentals. The cities & most HUD landlords get a fortune from the govt. for rentals they couldn't pay someone to live in otherwise. Then for that minor amt. they have to work 4 hrs. a day, 5 days a week in grunt jobs that give them no training. Even food stamps only average out to about $25. a week. Welfare is like our health care system. We put bandages on gangrenous, oozing wounds & then beat them down with words that cut deep. I do volunteer work for a homeless shelter & mission. I've seen how worthless & ashamed people feel because they have to ask for help. I've also seen those made bitter because of being judged by those like you who have never walked a mile in their shoes.Many states don't give any benefits beyond food stamps to adults unless they have a minor child. They also have to practically tell their whole life story & prove it to even get benefits with a child. To do this they have to go to various people including neighbours to sign papers that everything is true. So again they have to be humiliated in front of neighbours in hope of getting help. By no means is everything automatic. Would you work for what amounts to about $4. an hr. & still have to put up with the humiliation of people thinking you're lazy & worthless? My iphone 3gs wont turn on?

okay so i have had my iphone since the beginning of august and have had the otter box on it ever since the day i got it. i have dropped it a few times, but have never cracked, scratched, or had issues with it. today while on the bus i was playing a game. i decided to quit, so i went back to the home screen and pressed the lock button. when i remembered to text someone, i tried unlocking it and nothing would work. I pressed it several times, held down both buttons at once, waited about 30 minutes. then i came home and tried calling it, (In the process of hitting the buttons i could have turned it off,) but it rang and then went to voicemail didnt go striaght to voicebmail. I then tried plugging it into the charger for about 20 minutes and nothing is working. PLEASE HELP ME!

K, I'm not a homophobe. Seems like the gay marriage issue has been in the news a lot more in the past few years. Ok my brother is 19 years old and we have a place together. He has a job but his hours have declined alot. His past 2 jobs, his hours have went down and he cant afford to pay the bills as a result. He starts out with a good amount of hours but then it just goes downhill. He wakes up at like 2 oclock, gets on his computer and plays a game all day and all night. Goes to sleep at like 5 or 6 in the morning, then does the same thing all over again. He never comes out of his room, only to use the restroom or get something to eat/drink. Why do so many homophobes always bring up the fact that gay people can't reproduce together?

It's not the fact that they can't reproduce, its the fact that nature didn't crested homosexuality (just like nature didn't create artificial sperm, birth control, etc) because if nature had created homosexuality then men could grow babies. We have been best friends for quite sometime, we used to do everything best friends do together, we would text all day and talk on the phone all night about everything that would go on in each others lives on a daily basis and follow the same pattern all the time. We can't tell if someone is healthy internally, but if they have what we find attractive externally then we can assume they may be a good mate. Our reasons for choosing a mate seem to be much more complex than other animals, but female birds choose a mate based on his feathers, other female animals choose a mate based on the males' size - so we are similar in that way.
